Elves and Reindeer

The kids got some elf ears from Aunt Mary...along with some reindeer food that we put outside to make sure Santa's reindeer stopped at our house. We think Santa's sleigh flew a little too low trying to land on our roof last night, because we also had some branches down in our yard...must've had some egg nog before taking flight :)

Nolan's Drawings

Nolan came to us with these drawings that he did all by himself...he's come a long way in just a few months!

Snow at Grandma & Grandpa's for Thanksgiving

We traveled to Grandma & Granpa's for Thanksgiving, and had snow to go sledding!

For those of you who live in it from November to May...sorry!

But it's great when you only have it for a visit, and get to go home to green grass...

Nolan looked out our window this morning for snow, but none here!

LEAF FIGHT!

Fun in the leaves

The tree on the side of our house that gave us bright yellow-orange leaves last fall gave us these AMAZING red leaves this year! I have been eyeing the red leaves all along the roadside this year, wanting to stop and pick some up for my classroom, and now we have some at our house!

Nolan at the beach

Nolan goes right for the rocks at the beach...his favorite game is "follow Nolan", when we have to follow him along the rocks from one end to the other...

how lucky we are to take a bike ride to the end of our road...to this!

McKenna at the beach

McKenna goes right for the sand...she likes to get REALLY dirty playing at the beach...

Nolan found this clump of "seedweed" and said "eww"...so I asked McKenna to come pick it up,

and she said "OK!"

Practicing Witchcraft...

While Nolan was hoarding candy, McKenna was practicing her witchcraft...she was riding on her broomstick and turning Uncle Timmy into a dog (which he was happy to oblidge)!

Candy Thief!

Nolan decided to help himself to the Halloween stash at Uncle Tim & Aunt Corinne's house...he was taking handfulls and making a pile behind me (I was sitting on the stairs taking pictures). When I made him put them back, he decided that a good hiding spot would be inside his wizard hat (bottom right - and I think Uncle Tim helped him out with that idea!).

Trick-or-Treating

We went trick-or-treating in town after school, and then to Nonna & Pappa's house and Uncle Tim & Aunt Corinne's house (partly to dodge the 80+ trick-or-treaters who visit our house on Halloween)

Taking flight!

I took a whole bunch of pictures on Halloween...and this one captures her mid-air - it looks like she's taking flight with her broom!

The Mean Witch and The Mean Wizard

The bottom two photos are of their "mean" faces...pretty good, I'd say! Too bad it's not a video...Nolan's face comes with a little stomp of his foot right before the mean face!

Halloween at School

Photos from Nolan and McKenna dressed up at school on Halloween...the picture on the bottom right is one of the only ones we have of Nolan with his super-cool magic wand (from a walking stick tree at Uncle Tim & Aunt Corinne's house)...it didn't last very long, but was a great magic wand!

High Tide

We took a bike ride to the end of the road recently...and discovered there was NO BEACH! So much for playing in the sand...usually we have to contend with smelly low tide, but this day we had high tide!
