Summer Stuff...

Chris had quite a few summer photos on his phone that I finally got around to putting on my computer...the top row was taken today, actually. We were at Tim & Corinne's house to swim in the pool and McKenna fell asleep in the float. Chris was in the pool holding onto her for a while, but I was actually able to pull the float up out of the pool without waking her up. She slept for almost two hours like that! (we'll take a nap any way we can get it!) The pictures from the beach were actually from a visit to the ocean with Jay, Kim and Emily. Someone dug this huge hole that the kids eventually filled in by climbing in and out of it. And the fishing photos are from last month; we went to the end of our road and the kids fished with Dad's new pole. Didn't catch anything, but good practice learning to reel!

Yard of the Month

The civic association in our little development of Water's Edge has created a monthly 'contest' called "Yard of the Month", in which a dozen or so houses in the development win Yard of the Month and get a gift certificate to a local home store and a sign to put up in your yard for the month that you win. Last month, Chris said "Man, what do we have to do to win Yard of the Month", so when our neighbor knocked on our door and told me that we'd won, I had to get Chris to come to the door. The front looks nice, but our back yard is much nicer! (I guess all those hours I spend outside have paid off).

kenna's "kini"

McKenna thought she was hot stuff in her "kini" (bikini)...she usually wears a full one-piece bathing suit, but she wanted this on and thought it was the best thing ever!

The Blankey

This is McKenna and her blankey...Chris' great-aunt sent this to her when she was born and she is absolutely attached to it. She doesn't pay much attention to it during the day, but she always has it at bedtime!

Singing...

The kids wanted me to record them singing so they can watch themselves ("I love cake" was a big hit around here)...don't play the video until your volume is turned down a bit. ;)

Building with Daddy

Chris and the kids made a birdhouse this past weekend...Chris decided he wanted to do everything 'by hand', so they helped cut with the saw and hammer in the nails. The kids had moments of disinterest (when Chris was questioning their commitment...I think they did pretty well for a 2 and 4 year old!) but it got finished in the end...very nice!

Happy Birthday Becca!

Robin brought Becca's favorite to our house for breakfast....munchkins!

Today we took Becca out for her birthday (since she's hangin' with us during the day this summer)..we went to the ecology center and fed the goats, had lunch at McD's and swam in the pool at Sara & Sidney's house. We had lots of fun...my kids came home and I had to wake them up after a 3 hour nap! It was a busy day, but the kids were fantastic...I was a little nervous taking them out by myself, but everyone had their listening ears on! ;)
