"I love cake"

This started out as McKenna singing "This little piggy" but turned into a little ditty by Nolan...we all thought it was pretty funny!

"Dancing Queen" (err...princess)

McKenna had her dance recital tonight...she did great (when she was paying attention to the task at hand)! At the end, all the classes did a dance together, but she hadn't danced with the other classes before so she spent most of that number facing the wrong way, watching the older kids do the dance. When she was paying attention, she was "spot on" and didn't have any apprehension about doing the dance in front of all the people (you can't see, but we were sitting in the front row and the gym was packed).
In the picture on the top right, you can see McKenna attempting her forward roll...she decided to use the wall for leverage-notice her foot against the wall (a second later, she was propped with both feet on the wall)! It was too funny!

Beach Day Off

The kids and I took a day off from school today and went to the beach...we had a beautiful day! Even though they are wearing their swimmies, only Nolan went into the bay...and that was only up to about his knees-the water is still pretty cold! The picture on the left in the middle row is of the kids' summer sledding...they slide down the hill on their bottoms in the sand (not such a good idea for McKenna). There were kids with kites, and in one of Nolan's trips into the water he found a horseshoe crab (bottom middle). It was swimming along the shore, and I took it out of the water so the kids could take a look. When we put it back into the water and it swam away, the kids were waving and saying "goodbye horseshoe crab!" (bottom right). :)

LIU Reunion...

We managed to get together with my best friends from college over the weekend...we all traveled to Liberty & Sean's house in Connecticut for our second reunion since graduating in 1998. We met up three years ago, before McKenna, Riley (Sean & Lib's daughter...blondie on the top right) and Logan (peanut in Karen's arms on the top left...Karen is always stealing children for photos who are not hers-Logan is Brett & Jenny's daughter...just kidding Karen!) were born. Nolan and Ayden are the same age, so they played together the first time we met up. Of course my camera died right at the beginning of the trip, so I only got these photos. There were other photos at the end that the girls took...we'll see how long it takes me to get an email with those (hint, hint ladies... ) :) . We really had a great time catching up, and hopefully it isn't another three years before we get together again!

Here are pictures that Lib sent...thanks-I missed these with my camera! :)

Told you so...

This photo is for Liberty and Sean, Karen and Andrew and Jenny...

We were talking about how McKenna eats EVERYTHING (floam, playdough, crayons, you name it) and were keeping an eye out that she didn't eat the chalk that Liberty gave to the kids. Well, she waited until we were in the car on the way home to test it out...notice the white on her bottom lip. Such is life with McKenna...

Love this photo

I just got around to downloading this photo that Chris has had on his phone for months...it's one of my favorites!

And this was taken the day we went to the Children's Museum....she's taking a nice dark nap thanks to her hair!

It's "WHAT NOT TO WEAR" for toddlers...
I just HAD to take a picture of this...Chris chose McKenna's clothes and dressed her on his way out the door (I can't remember where to). I couldn't allow it, but I just had to document it. We'll see when she starts picking out her own clothes who does better...I'm not sure it can get much worse than this! (notice the 'rainbow socks' too!)

(the picture on the bottom right is after Mommy stepped in...)
